From the early age of seven, From the early age of seven, Jonathan Harold Ball developed a love for art and photography when his grandmother gave him a polaroid camera. From that day on, Jonathan dedicated himself to photography, a path that would lead him to Charis studio, owned and operated by legendary photographer, Phillip Stewart Charis.
Jonathan's formal training came by way of Brooks Institute of Photography where he graduated at the top of his class. Immediately following graduation Jonathan opened his first studio in Boise Idaho. Jon Ball photography grew to be one of the most prestigious portrait studios in the northwest.
In late 2005 Jonathan and Phillip Stewart Charis met and he was asked by Mr. Charis to take replace him upon his retirement. After extensive training under Mr. Charis, the studio and legacy of Charis Portraiture became Jonathan's. Jonathan's passion is creating beautiful portraits. In his spare time he delights in studying the works of modern and classic artists. He also enjoys spending time with his wife and children who reside in Southern California.
